JoomlaRocket offers a great tutorial on how to automatically install your Moodle within only few mouse clicks.

Most of the hosting companies available over the market do use the industry standard web hosting control panel called cPanel. Inside the cPanel there is an automated script installation tool called Fantastico De Luxe. This auto installed comes with 50 great scripts that you can install automatically!

1. To perform an automated Moodle installation you should open your cPanel and scroll down to the Fantastico De Luxe icon:

2. In Fantastico, you will find Moodle in the Other Scripts section.

3. When in the Moodle section, select the New Installation

4. On the newly opened page, you will need to include in some details:

Install on domain: This will automatically show your domain name (if you have several for your account, please select the correct one)

Install in directory: If this is your first Moodle installation, it is best to leave this blank (if you include a directory you will have your Moodle in a folder and your Moodle will NOT load on your main page. example: www.domain.com/moodle will contain your newly installed Moodle instead of www.domain.com)

Admin access data: here are your administrative username and password for Moodle

Administrator- username: Normally people write admin in this box. This is not wrong but it is commonly used and anyone trying to sneak into your Moodle back end will definitely write admin as the default administrator username. It is a good idea to use something else like your name or your nickname. Please note that this password is only for you, and no one else!

Administrator- password: Please use a combination of letters, numbers and symbols by holding the SHIFT on your keyboard. Strong passwords are very important yet hard to rememeber so make a file where you store your passwords. You can use an exel spreadsheet and to password protect it as well.

Base configuration: your e-mail address, name and the name of your site. This information can easily be changed at a later point so do not worry if you type something that is not a hundred percent accurate description of your site. We strongly recommend that you include a working e-mail address that you have access to.

5. Then, click on the install button, which will take you to the next step: You see that you are at step 2 out of 3 for your Moodle installation. This page is important as it shows the database name that has been generated for you. Normally it should be something like: your hosting username_mdle1 so it will be easy to remember. After this please click the button and proceed to the next step:

6. The last step is very important. This page provides you with the URL to your new website and the administrative area for it. Bookmark them as you will need direct access to the website front and back end.

Although here you see 6 steps, the process takes no more than 2 minutes.
