Installation of Cube cart

Cube cart can be installed in two ways: First is one click installation and other is manual installation.

One click installation

• Login to CPanel then choose Fantastico. It will display a list of content management system. Select Cube cart from the list.

• Then click on New Installation. It will ask you the location of your store house. If you want to install it directly on your website then leave the directory blank.

• If you want to install Cube cart in some folder then you have to type the name of folder into the text box.

• Then give a username and Password. This username and password will help you in accessing the admin back end.

• At last click on Install Cube cart button. Now Cube cart is successfully installed on your specified location. This is the most easiest and efficient method of installation.

• Now you are ready to work on Cube cart admin end.

Manual Installation

Manual installation of Cube cart is a tricky task but you need not to panic. If you will follow the procedure step by step then you can successfully install the Cube cart manually. Before installation make sure that you have full access to MySQL Database. You have to use FTP for initial steps.

• The first step is you have to download Cube cart in a zip format. Extract the files.

• Now connect FTP and make a directory to store all the files that you have downloaded. Suppose we are uploading all the files in a directory termed as product.

• Now the next step you have the change the permission of following files to 777: product/images/uploads/, product/images/uploads/thumbs/, product/includes/global.inc.php, product/pear/tmp/.

• Now you need to run the installer by typing the following URL in the browser: http://example.com/product

• Agree to all terms and conditions. Now system will check whether all permissions are set successfully or not. If permissions are set then proceed to the next step.

• Here you have to enter the name of database, database user and database password. We have to make this database before installation. Type all names carefully otherwise it will show error.

• Select the location of your store. Also select a skin for the store.

• Now create an admin username and password. This will help you in accessing the admin back end.

• Now change back the permission of file: product/includes/global.inc.php to 644.  Now you have successfully installed the Cube cart.

• Don’t forget to delete install folder after successful installation of Cube cart.

• Once you have deleted the folder check the installation of Cube cart by typing the following URL: http://example.com/product.

• Following window will display. It means you have successfully installed Cube cart.
